Natural Poetry in Natural Choices
Davis Food Co-op members will get a nice surprise in their April edition
of the co-op newsletter,
Natural Choices. In honor of National Poetry Month, the Co-op
has published a nice selection
of poetry written by co-op members. Look for Crow poets Allegra Jostad
Silberstein and Shannon DeArmond nestled in the pages. The Crow staff
also recommends "10-Year Anniversary" by Nancy Bodily in the same feature
- a lovely little poem.
Also in the April Natural Choices is a feature by Rae Gouirand
on the various ways to get involved in our local writing community.
Thank you, Rae for always keeping us well-informed.
Big Blue Meanies
The Yolo Crow is now 7 volumes old and growing. We've seen a progressive
increase number of submissions we receive every quarter, which is great.
We've also seen a large increase in submissions that do not follow
our submission guidelines -- not so great.
In response to this increase, we've had to become more strict in our
submission policies.
Henceforth,
if a submission arrives without a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope),
the author will not be informed of the submission's
acceptance status. If a submission arrives without a signedsubmission
form, or without the required four copies of the piece in the proper
format, the submission will be discarded without consideration for
publication and without notification. We at The Crow apologize
for being big blue meanies on this subject. You are welcome to resubmit
pieces following the complete, proper guidelines at
any time.
